Arno Schuitemaker

Arno Schuitemaker (Amsterdam) creates hyperphysical works that fuse dance, performance, and influences from the visual arts. Each carefully crafted piece explores the intricate interplay between intimacy and collectivity, examining themes of identity, togetherness, loss, perception, and transformation.Linked like a chain, his works are personal as well as underpinned by a driving question: in our hyperconnected yet fragile world, how do our bodies and minds sense events so vast they tend to slip by unnoticed, yet fundamentally reshape who we are and how we come together?Through a rigorous integration of movement, light, and electronic music, Arno creates performances that one has to experience. His contemporary works immerse the audience, each in its unique way, and have been presented at renowned venues and contemporary performing arts festivals in more than 25 countries.
